2010 Household Hazardous Waste Days

The Bergen County Utilities Authority will host several Household Hazardous Waste Days in the coming year. All sites will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., rain or shine. Residents can dispose of their unwanted hazardous waste at that time. Proof of residency is required. Sites and locations are as follows:

* Saturday, March 13th and Saturday, July 17th at the Bergen County Utilities Authority at the Foot of Empire Boulevard in Moonachie.

* Sunday, April 11th, Sunday, June 13th and Sunday, October 17th at the Bergen Community College at 400 Paramus Road in Paramus.

*Saturday, May 15th, Saturday, September 11th, and Saturday, November 20th at the Bergen County Campgaw Mountain Reservation at 200 Campgaw Road in Mahwah.

2010 Computer/Electronic and Tire Recycling Program

The Bergen County Utilities Authority will have several Computer/Electronic and Tire Recycling programs at two different locations in 2010. All sites will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., rain or shine.

Bergen County residents can dispose of unwanted computers, electronics and tires at this time. Proof of residency is required.

A program will be held on Sunday, April 25th and Saturday, August 21st at the Bergen County Community Services Building at 327 East Ridgewood Avenue in Paramus.

In addition, on Saturday, June 26th and Saturday, November 6th, a program will be held at the Bergen County Campgaw Mountain Reservation at 200 Campgaw Mountain in Mahwah.

Acceptable material for drop off includes monitors, towers, hard drives, fax machines and tires. There is a limit of four tires per person per delivery. Tires will be accepted with or without rims.
